When you get to The Cave of the Past, there's no going back. It's the Devil's Machine or nothing... which will you pick? The Evil Power is waiting, won't you come say hello?

Why does every Song of Unhealing video (bar the really lovely piano version) have that fucking statue in it omg.

That statue still does and always will scare the shit out of me. I am deadly serious after I read/watched Ben Drowned (Which is the best creepypasta ever fo srs) I was petrified they would appear when I was sleeping. I had my ex (who I was with at the time) watch me till I fell asleep over webcam to reassure me no statues were behind me.

They are scary as balls.

Is it a kind of dream,
Floating out on the tide,
Following the river of death downstream,
Oh, is it a dream?

There’s a fog along the horizon,
A strange glow in the sky,
But nobody seems to know where you go,
But what does it mean?
Oh, is it a dream?

So Giygas isn't about abortion but it IS about rape, am I getting that right? Don't really see the disdain for the former and not the latter honestly. Are you really just that offended that people's theories are wrong or something?

Giygas was based off a scene which Itoi thought was rape and was actually murder. Itoi accidently stumbled across the scene as a child and was quite disturbed by it, and used those feelings in his creation and dialogue of Giygas.

Giygas, however, is not about abortion. He is not a foetus. He may have been inspired by a rape scene but he isn’t about abortion. What pisses me off is that every time by some miracle someone mentions Mother, it’s always to do with the fucking abortion theory.

EarthBound isn’t a game about abortion, that’s all I’m trying to get across.

You make it sound as if I’m all uppity about abortion and not rape, which isn’t true. I’m pro-choice for starters so y’know, and rape is wrong. Plain and simple as that. I’m not discussing those issues at all here, only their connection with EarthBound. Doesn’t it bother you at all that EarthBound and Mother are remembered by the majority as ‘the abortion game’ and nothing more, when it is so much more than that?

It is an incorrect theory, and one I see get beat around too much. That’s all.

GIYGAS IS NOT A FOETUS

You will find most people believe this because of the baby they see in the wounded form. Honestly just look at a YT comments section.

Word of God states he is not a foetus. Whether he acts childlike or not, and even if his likeness to a child is intentional, it does not make him a foetus or the game about abortion.

EarthBound is not about abortion.

GIYGAS IS NOT A FOETUS

guys please stop this

it’s not a theory

Itoi himself THAT MEANS WORD OF GOD has said Giygas was inspired by boobies in a rape/murder scene. I know. I have researched the balls off Giygas. There is nothing I don’t know about Giygas, k.

the ‘baby’ is there in his wounded stage because of the way EarthBound produces the trippy battle backgrounds. It is a product of programming code and nothing more.

the cave of the past is probably not a vagina. This is after all Mother so that could be anything. but I don’t think it is.

Also, Giygas is alive. He has been alive for a while now. He can’t be a foetus if he’s an all grown up alien, okay.

Please stop beating this whole EARTHBOUND IS A GAME ABOUT ABORTION because it seriously, really, isn’t. It pisses me off no end my most beloved game is remembered only because of stupid speculation and not how good it is. EarthBound is a game about many things, mostly feels, but it is not about abortion and it never has been and never will be.

Lightchild Introduction

I just finished the first draft of my intro to Lightchild. I’d love some feedback! Read it below

—————————————————————————————————

LIGHTCHILD

A lazy golden dusk had settled itself over the quiet village, turning the small houses and cottages ochre and setting their windows aflame with a warm glow. The sun was sinking ever lower behind the large hill, whose foot was where the village slept. A single, giant oak tree dominated its peak, ancient branches stretching high into the sky and roots as old as the earth entangling themselves over the slopes. On this evening, in the height of a hazy plains summer, its glossy green leaves rustled gently in a sweet breeze. It was a picture of serenity in this long era of peace time.

Twilight now planted its seeds among the fields and cottages, and the village lay absolutely silent, the last few children playing in the square having returned home. Thick, fluffy coral and orange clouds slowly made their way across a lilac sky. The air was heavy with summer musk, and insects hummed to and fro across the long grasses. And down among the weathered roots of the old oak tree, a young woman dozed, the only soul left outside in the dying light. Through heavy lidded eyes, she gazed fondly at her village of gold and ochre, and after a few moments, those eyes finally slipped closed.

As she slept, cradled in the bones of the earth and the glow of the sky, her village of Antaram joined her in midsummer slumber. All around her, ever so slowly, the thread of her destiny unravelled across the plains, from the mountains in the north down to the southern oceans. Something was stirring far away, just beyond the edge of perception, and she was tied to it more intricately than she could ever imagine.

It hovered on the border of light and dark, dreams and reality, her world and his. Like the country it loomed over, it too was sleeping. It would not awake, not yet, but it began to sow its seeds into the peaceful sunset of Athanasia. Nothing broke, but everything changed. The country slept on, oblivious to the disturbance in the dusk.

That first seed embedded itself into the fabric of existence, coming into being with the cautious opening of one perfect crimson eye, its shadowy form taking shape around it as the other eye opened, scanning the surrounding landscape. In her sleep, the young woman cried out softly, and their destinies slowly clicked into place, like the final piece of the puzzle.

The sun fell behind the mountains and the light in the sky died, as did the peacetime it had illuminated. In its place, a twisted darkness twitched and sprouted in the fields of time. Thus, it began, and so it grows.

when people say evoutions in the later generations suck

HE JUST BECOMES ANGRY

but this is the most realistic depiction of growing up

But the Gen V ones do suck
because that’s Gen I, it was allowed to be a bit shite at times. It was the first. Gen V should be better like 500 pokemon down the line
